I’ve taken virtually no photos except this not great one in the rain and dark with no flash and very poor composition. It will have to do though. We’ve been redesigning our website (ongoing), I’ve been doing crazy twitter networking which has worked, I’ve been at my first fashion show, I’ve eaten pancakes with my family on my brother’s birthday (his first as a daddy), I’ve been shipping part of Carrie and Garry’s life into my loft for a few months til they get settled in the big smoke (and doing quite nicely from their cast offs too), I’ve been working on my core strength in yoga. This will be the year of the stomach muscle. And we finished off this lovely little film. If you have a music moment you’d like to add, then you can do it here.

We had a lovely one, really lovely. Very relaxed and all doing things together which is rare. A visit to the Red Road Underground exhibition, lunch with friends in Firebird, The Gatsby Club, Edinburgh Zoo for the girls and Richard while I drank coffee and chatted with a friend for 3 hours, a special ‘valentines family supper’ (I think Richard and the girls were chivvied into action by listening to the Archers omnibus) followed by a dancing display to the music of Serge Gainsbourg. Bella’s response to Richard’s dancing ‘He looks like a lady’, then drinks with friends in the evening. So onwards with with week now. We have an outdoor shoot today in Glasgow, and it’s not looking good. EEEk. Off to recce locations post breakfast meeting in All That is Solid.  Speak to you soon, have a lovely week

So we were in London, minus Richard who was doing some directing for another company, and editing some more Linn films. We did sooooo much in the few days, and are truly culturally topped up. (above, the girls at the Queen’s Gallery for the Shackleton exhibition which they really loved, and oh my were the toilets posh)

When the girls went into this room of the Kusama exhibition at the Tate Moden (thanks Lauren for the tip off), then ran out to get me saying it was ‘the best art we have ever seen’. They went round and round until the gallery man told them off for skipping the queue…

Cake Hole heaven , and this is just a small slice (sorry) of what we got up to.

• Artists talks and exhibition on the ‘Red Road Underground’ at the New Glasgow Society, by my fellow dennistounian Chris Leslie on Saturday between 2 and 5pm.
• Gatsby Club night at the GUU – 1920s club, and we’re going.
• What Presence at Street Level is still on, you should go if you’ve not already. Next talk is on Friday 24th Feb the night before the exhibition closes
• This is on in the Briggait project space, and I hope to get along this weekend

Hi All, back from London and back to reality and multi-tasking. Work emails in between making this patchwork piece for my cousin who is compiling a blanket to be raffled to raise money for a charity that operates on children in 3rd world countries who have facial disfigurements.  My cousin herself is motivated to do this, because she was lucky enough to benefit from top surgeons in our own amazing NHS when she had a major brain operation last year.  Hopefully I will be able to sell some tickets too to help out.

Sorry I’ve been so slack on the postings. There’s loads of cool stuff in Glasgow just now that I’ve been meaning to post on, but I keep running out of steam at the end of each day. The girls and I are off to London for the long weekend, sadly minus Richard who has to stay behind and work. We’re heading to Grayson Perry at the British Museum (Ruby has been speaking to her friends about Alan Measles all week), Shrigley at the Hayward even though we could virtually have a cup of tea with him in Glasgow, and the Captain Scott photos at the Queen’s Gallery (Bella’s favourite since it features death). Plus some general mooching I imagine, but sadly this won’t be the trip for my Persephone pilgrimage. Next time…

TOUCH OF CLOTH

I went to Alan’s studio in Govan last week to meet him and pick up a sample of his t-shirt designs for the window. A former IT person, Alan has packed in the 9 – 5 to follow his passion for t-shirt design, working in a studio with various other creatives and gathering some rather lovely looking bikes as a sideline. All the T’s are organic / fairtrade. Check them out here, and support a local maker.

We’ve been really busy with work and play. Filming on 2 projects now in the edit, planning a couple of creative projects, enjoying the winter sun, dressing rabbits in high heels, rehearsing for our weekend shows at the late night session, and the ABC 2 etc etc.

But the highlight of the week was Emma’s Up Helly Aa Glasgow celebration, complete with real boat burning, bannocks, a ceilidh in the hall, shetland fiddle music, live internet stream of the official Shetland happenings on the TV and more
